[He's a little disappointed in himself that he can't show her anything that's really cool, the real pieces of his world that're incredible and maybe he could have prepared himself better for seeing her but...she seems to like it. And that's enough for him. He's making himself comfortable on her bed as he's watching the video, internally cringing at the sound of his own voice as Baymax continually scares the crap out of him.]
Hey, it's not like I've ever done this before. You don't even wanna know how our first run as superheroes went. [A beat.] We ended up attacking a pigeon and still missed. A lot. [He's carefully leaving out the part where he panicked and dove to hide behind Baymax. Ehem. Anyway. There's a grin because San Fransokyo's still home and he misses it way more than he'll admit. He knows it's still out there. It's just a matter of getting back.]
You should see it at night with all of the lights and everything. I don't think there's any place I'd rather live. But this is just a part of our world. The whole earth is really huge. California's pretty big, too. San Fransokyo alone is home to almost 900,000 people. [Annnd up into the sky with the air balloons.] I miss it a lot. Cerealia sometimes comes close to a smaller version of it but it's not quite the same. I kinda wish I could show you all the really cool parts of the city.
[Don't worry, Hiro, she's totally charmed. Even if she does end up laughing at the thought of Hiro attacking pigeons...especially with Baymax.
(She also doesn't miss Baymax's comment about Hiro's "treatment", but it doesn't take a genius to realize that he means his healing from the accident he told her about.
She'll keep quiet about it for now.)]
Whaaaat, so the pigeon won?
[She's joking, it's obvious on her face, but she can't resist the response even so. Ribbing Hiro comes easily, what can she say? Still, his city... his world, even--it all sounds amazing to her.]
... I wish I could see it, too. I keep wondering what worlds without Grimm are like. [Hiro's world is clearly the best option for sight-seeing.] And then you could give me a tour!
[Thank you, Ruby. He'd rather not really talk about his treatment or his dead brother or the fact that he's still in recovery mode. This is better. Charming Ruby Rose is apparently much better and high up on his priority list. Still, he can't help but gently push on the side of her head when she teases him.]
Shut up. It was a pretty big pigeon, okay? [It wasn't. They just messed up really bad.] I imagine worlds without Grimm are probably quieter, but we just have different kinds of monsters than you do. Usually they take the form of people. [It's...weirdly profound, maybe, and he doesn't say anything else about it, quickly sliding into another subject.] Anyway, I don't even know where we'd go first if I could ever show you the city. Sometimes I wonder if we could rebuild our worlds using whatever code CERES says they've recovered. And anyway our world isn't like yours. We don't have Semblances or anything. You might get bored.
[She sways with the shove, but not in a bad way; being around him seems to be doing wonders for her general state of health and energy. So she smiles, giggling a little at the response, but the words...
Monsters who take the form of people, huh... that makes her uncomfortable for reasons she can't quite pinpoint, so she's going to focus on what she wants to talk about instead.]
[Baymax seems to pick up on the fact that her general state is improving, but it's not like Hiro needs his robot to tell him that. He can see it himself and he's pretty pleased with himself. (Later, of course, he'll probably agonize over it but whatever that's later.) The conversation's easier than most things in his life and he shifts a little so he's more on his side to face her and Baymax than sitting straight up.]
Oh yeah? Even if all I did was sit here and draw robots all day instead of showing you stuff that's stored in Baymax's memory? I do wanna revisit my blueprints for our pancake-bot. [Said-bot hasn't been started but maybe he's just curious how far he can push her.]
[It's said so solemnly, because she means it. She likes watching him work, and she likes his company, so honestly, she doesn't need him going out of his way to entertain her (though she also really appreciates that).
[He's genuinely laughing even as he tips a little, moving out of the way so she's not pushing him too hard. Oh Ruby. You're so fun to mess with.]
Come on. It's our project, remember? I'd be a pretty bad partner if I started without you. I've been drawing some other stuff up, just not that. [He tilts his head then.] If your head's not hurting too much maybe we can start drawing some stuff out together.
Yeah, well, at least your older sibling didn't build a whole robot to try and nanny you. [That's not exactly what Baymax was for, but Hiro's not dumb enough to ignore that he probably served as inspiration for the nursebot. Once he's sure Ruby's going to stay down he moves, shifting again to grab for another notebook and a red marker.]
She's just worried about you. And anyway how're we supposed to protect the city if you're not getting any better?
I know it's boring to stay in one place. Trust me. [He's drawing something in his notebook then before nudging her into her arm and handing her the marker. Apparently he decided to start a game of tic-tac-toe and chose Xs.]
Is Naoki just as bad? [As Yang, he means. He'd sort of figured out that they all live together just from the small sweep of the apartment he'd done earlier.]
[PREPARE TO LOSE, RUBY ROSE. In all seriousness he hums in thought as he places an x in a spot to block out a row for himself.]
I've only talked to him once so I'll take your word for it. [He tilts his head in thought.] Haven't you known him for a couple of months now? You'd think he'd be over the whole "good first impression" thing.
You mean in general, or just with you? There's a pretty big difference when it comes to something like that. [...he's frowning suddenly, staring at the page. Okay, so Ruby's apparently a worthy adversary. Give him a moment to think of where he wants to go from here.]
[Yeah... Naoki might be on the line between family and acting like family, and Ruby feels for him, she does. It must be awkward, since he's not sure when it's okay (it's totally okay, though).]
Didn't you also say that Yuri tries to feed you whenever he sees you? I think you might just inspire that in people no matter what. [And who wouldn't want to protect Ruby Rose and make sure she's going to be okay? It makes sense to him. He scribbles out an x on their grid to try and make a comeback.
He also vaguely wonders if this means he has to make nice with Naoki, too. But he's not going to actually ask that.] Have you bothered telling him it's okay?
Often times, verbal reassurance is not enough. Physical acts can help assure others.
[He jumps suddenly, almost like he forgot Baymax was actually there and powered on. And now that x is taking up a square and a half. Thanks, Baymax.]
What, like little sister-ly feelings? [... She ends up shrugging, shaking her head.] Maybe! Weird, but... maybe. Maybe I'm just so used to being a little sister that it just happens.
[Still weird.
She blinks at the input from Baymax, before...]
Well... no, I guess I haven't really told him either. I haven't gotten the chance.
[She shrugs, a little self-consciously.]
It feels a little weird to... you know, just go up to him like "It's okay, you can treat me like a little sister, Naoki!"
If you've been nothing but the little sister for your entire life, probably. [A beat.] Some people treat me like a younger brother here and I'm not sure what to make of it either. It's kinda nice and kinda weird but Tenka has the opposite problem Naoki does.
[But he likes Tenka so it's fine.] At least if you're weird about it it'll break the tension and make it less awkward. [A beat.] Oooor it'll make it even more awkward and Yang has to do damage control. But seriously, doesn't he live here or something? It's not a bad idea.
Huh... you mean he's too big brotherly? Like a no boundaries sort of person?
[What a weirdo.]
But yeah, he does now! And... he's really nice and everything, and it's nice having him around... and he makes me pancakes sometimes! So--yeah, I guess you're right. I should just let him know somehow.
[Oops.]
I've never had to do something like this before, I'm still figuring it out.
He's already calling himself my aniki, but I think Tenka just does that to people he likes. [Who knows how these things work.]
Pancakes are important. [Sage nod.] It couldn't hurt. I think a lot of us are still figuring out how these things work and how families and friends communicate in a place like this. [There's a pause as he casually starts doodling on a corner of their game board.] I'm still kinda getting used to living with Tadashi again. I don't really let him know how glad I am that we're together again but I think it's just awkward to talk about. So...at least talking to Naoki will be easier than that.

Nnnnnope. I don't think so.
[It's said so simply.]
I don't think I can get bored around you.

Wait for it.
It's sinking in.]
... Hiro, did you really start it without me?
no subject
Of course not. But good to know I've got your attention.
no subject
And then she shoves him.]
You're so mean.
[But she's smiling, because she's glad he hasn't started without her after all.]

[She looks so pleased, even so. Quietly pleased.]
My head's okay though! I'm definitely up for something like that!
[She says, as she sits up too fast and the vertigo causes her to fall right back to the bed.
Whumph.]
no subject
I'm pretty sure this is actually the opposite of up. [Just sayin'.] No wonder Yang's making you stay in bed today.
no subject
Yang's a tyrant.
[hmph.]
no subject
She's just worried about you. And anyway how're we supposed to protect the city if you're not getting any better?
no subject
[Sorry, Hiro, you're on your own there. Tadashi's his own breed of older sibling.
Though Yang comes close in her own ways. Anyway, Ruby sighs at that; she knows he's right, but still.]
I know, I knowww... anyway, you're here, so I can't complain that it's boring anymore. I just don't like lying around like this for very long.
I'll stay put though.
no subject
Is Naoki just as bad? [As Yang, he means. He'd sort of figured out that they all live together just from the small sweep of the apartment he'd done earlier.]
no subject
[It's a good question, and she ponders it as she moves to toss in an O to the tic-tac-toe game. Time for a fierce battle on paper.]
Not as bad as Yang, but... he's definitely a worrier. I think he'd be worse about it if he wasn't still kind of awkward about it.
[About being a big brother, that is. Ruby just grins, shrugging.]
I think he wants to make sure I like him first, which is silly, because of course I like him.
no subject
I've only talked to him once so I'll take your word for it. [He tilts his head in thought.] Haven't you known him for a couple of months now? You'd think he'd be over the whole "good first impression" thing.

Oh, he is! We're friends for sure!
It's more of a...
[Hmmm.]
