Kinda sounds more to me like it had more to do with that than the game itself.

[for whatever reason. it's gotta have something to do with the experience, because he can't see any way this game would actually be fun otherwise. he's sure not all board games are like this but it's.... simple.

like it's meant for really young kids, and there's not much appeal in that for him. but he'll still keep playing, drawing a card and moving the piece forward. is there any satisfaction that comes in winning something like this? there's no strategy at all.]
